Tool support requires the appropriate API integration; a supported tool is not automatically active in every chat.
Supported API features and tools
Streaming responses
Function calling and structured outputs
Web search and file search
Code interpreter and hosted shell
Computer use and image generation tools
MCP, tool search, skills, and apply patch
Before you choose
No native audio or video support.
Image generation requires a tool; native output is text.
Fine-tuning is not supported.
Choose the reasoning effort
lowmediumhighxhighmax
Choose an effort level explicitly when the integration provides that control. Evaluate a lower setting first, then increase it for difficult reasoning with several dependent steps. Compare correctness, response time, and token use. No default is marked here because the reviewed Astra documentation does not establish one.
Unsupported settings: none, minimal.
Tool calling requires the Responses API. Chat Completions is supported without tools.
API rate limits depend on your usage tier; the free API tier is not supported.

Workflow 01
Debug a complex failure
Provide the code, logs, and expected behavior so the investigation stays grounded in evidence.
Investigate this failure using the code and logs I provide. Reconstruct the sequence of events, rank plausible causes, and cite the evidence for each. Separate confirmed defects from hypotheses. Recommend the smallest safe fix and tests that would distinguish the remaining hypotheses. Flag missing information; do not invent logs or change unrelated code.
Workflow 02
Reconcile conflicting research
Compare source quality and disagreements before turning a research packet into a recommendation.
Synthesize the supplied research into a decision brief for the question below. Compare each source's methods, dates, assumptions, and relevance. Cite the source and section for every material claim. Explain disagreements and gaps instead of averaging them away. End with a recommendation, its uncertainties, and the evidence that would change it. Use only the supplied sources.
Workflow 03
Plan a multi-step project
Turn goals and constraints into a reviewable plan with dependencies, checkpoints, and clear limits.
Build an implementation plan from the goals, constraints, and current-state notes below. Identify dependencies, milestones, risks, and decisions that need an owner. Give each milestone measurable acceptance criteria and a verification step. Separate facts from assumptions and flag missing requirements. Finish with the first small deliverable. Do not execute the plan or take external actions.

OpenAI API pricing
These are OpenAI API reference prices, not EZ Ai Assist subscription prices.
Above 272,000 input tokens, long-context rates apply to the entire request, not just the tokens above the threshold.
Fast costs 2× Standard. Batch and Flex cost 50% of Standard. Tool usage can add fees.
Ultrafast is a separate API service tier. Its published token rates work out to 6× Standard for Astra, including the corresponding long-context rates.
Regional processing adds 10% where available. Ultrafast supports US data residency and global processing only.
Prices can change. Confirm the current rate and service tier in OpenAI’s pricing documentation before estimating API spend.
Common questions
A few things worth knowing.
When should I compare Astra with Sol?
OpenAI positions Astra for its most demanding work and Sol as a lower-cost alternative. Try both on the same difficult task with a clear rubric. Favor the result that meets your quality requirements at an acceptable total cost and response time; a higher-priced model is not automatically necessary for every request.
How should I use the large context window?
Organize long inputs with source names, headings, and a clear question. Ask for citations and inspect them against the originals. A larger window is capacity for more material, not a guarantee that every detail will be used correctly. The separate maximum output limit still applies.
Does Astra browse or operate a computer automatically?
No. These capabilities depend on tools supplied by the integration and the permissions you grant. A model's API tool support does not establish which tools are enabled in EZ Ai Assist. Check the app and review consequential actions before they are carried out.
What is Ultrafast, and can I use it here?
Ultrafast is OpenAI’s higher-priced API service tier for latency-sensitive work, with separate usage limits. It supports US data residency and global processing, not EU or other non-US regional endpoints. Its availability in OpenAI’s API does not mean EZ Ai Assist offers an Ultrafast control; check the app for the options available to you.
Can I use these prompts with my own documents or code?
Yes, as editorial starting points. Replace the references to supplied materials with information you are authorized to share, and adapt the request to the inputs available in the app. Review the output before relying on it; these examples are not benchmarks or guarantees.
Are these prices part of my EZ Ai Assist subscription?
No. The table is a developer reference for direct OpenAI API billing. EZ Ai Assist plans and model access are separate; visit our pricing page and the app for current subscription details.
