Tool support requires the appropriate API integration; a supported tool is not automatically active in every chat.
Supported API features and tools
Text and image understanding with text responses
A 1M-token context and 128,000-token synchronous output ceiling
Adaptive thinking with five effort levels and medium as the default
Tool-use workflows through a configured Claude API integration
Before you choose
Images are inputs; this is not an image, audio or video generator.
Thinking shares the max_tokens budget with the reply. A small budget can stop before answer text appears.
Haiku 5.5 uses a newer tokenizer; Anthropic reports about 30% more tokens for the same text than Haiku 4.5. Measure actual token use.
The published not-sooner-than October 7, 2027 retirement commitment is not a scheduled shutdown date.
Adaptive thinking and effort
lowmedium · defaulthighxhighmax
Adaptive thinking is enabled by default. Set output_config.effort to choose the tradeoff. Thinking can be disabled at low, medium or high, but disabling it at xhigh or max returns a 400 error. The older enabled/budget_tokens configuration is not accepted.
Omit temperature, top_p and top_k when migrating. Non-default temperature/top_p, any top_k, or setting both temperature and top_p can cause a 400 error. Assistant prefill is also rejected.
Select response blocks by type, not position. Preserve returned thinking blocks with tool results; they can contain only a signature unless summarized display is requested.
The 300,000-token output option is a Message Batches beta requiring output-300k-2026-03-24, not the normal synchronous limit. Thinking-block reuse is restricted to the same or linked accounts.
Put it to work
Start with a more useful prompt.
Original examples from EZ Ai Assist. Adapt these to your task and the features available in your workspace.
Workflow 01
Triage support requests
Keep a short, repeatable classification task grounded in policy.
Classify these support messages using only the categories and policy excerpts I provide. Return message ID, category, urgency, supporting phrase and whether a human review is required. Do not invent missing account facts or promise refunds. Put ambiguous cases in needs review and keep the customer-facing reply under 80 words.
Workflow 02
Extract a screenshot checklist
Use visible evidence without guessing hidden behavior.
Inspect this settings screenshot against the checklist below. Record the visible label, displayed value, evidence location and any mismatch. Mark obscured values as unreadable. Separate observations from interaction tests, and propose the smallest next check for each unresolved item.
Workflow 03
Review a small patch
Make code assistance focused and easy to verify.
Review this patch against the stated behavior. Look for concrete regressions and edge cases, cite the affected lines, and suggest only minimal changes. Finish with three targeted tests and their expected outcomes. Do not claim to have executed tests or modify unrelated code.

The higher tier is for prompts over 100,000 input tokens; the context ceiling is a separate 1M-token specification.
Message Batches offers a 50% input/output discount. The displayed table is standard API pricing, not batch pricing or an EZ Ai Assist plan.
Common questions
A few things worth knowing.
Which model ID should an integration use?
The Claude API uses claude-haiku-5-5, a fixed ID without a dated suffix or separate alias. Other platforms can use their own identifier formats.
Can I turn thinking off?
Yes at low, medium or high effort. At xhigh and max, use adaptive thinking. Lower effort reduces thinking but is not a substitute for testing instruction-following quality.
Does 1M context mean every request has the lowest rate?
No. Haiku 5.5 applies a higher price tier above 100,000 input tokens, well below its context ceiling. Tokenization also differs from Haiku 4.5.
Is it scheduled for retirement?
No shutdown date is established here. Anthropic lists it as active; the not-sooner-than date is a minimum availability commitment, not a retirement announcement.
Does this page guarantee access in EZ Ai Assist?
No. A catalog entry and provider capability reference do not establish current app access, enabled tools or available settings. Check the model selector and controls in your workspace.
Are these EZ Ai Assist subscription prices?
No. Provider API rates are developer references. Your subscription and any limits shown in the app are separate; use the website pricing page for plans.
How should I verify an answer?
Provide the relevant evidence and acceptance criteria, ask for source references or reproducible checks, and review the result. Distinguish a proposed tool action from a tool action actually executed.
